‘Thank you, Mario! But my dignity is in another castle!’

Filed under:

The first thing we should tell you about this (linked) comic is that it may be a little unsafe for some conservative workplaces, and perhaps a lot unsafe for anyone who never, ever wanted to think about the Mario crew in any sort of a sexualized manner.

R.K. Milholland of Something Positive has often used video game references, and his cynical take on geek fetishes has cropped up more and more often since one of the main characters founded a phone sex line for geeks called Nerdrotica — and it’s that company’s web cam chat that spawned this horrific look at a fetish we never, ever wanted to consider.

Ever.

Link gets a corset, too

Filed under:

Many of you had some strong opinion’s regarding TheVintageDoctor’s Mario corset, so we only found it fitting to tell you about her new Zelda-related fashion item.

This corset is very similar to the last one, only featuring Link instead of the portly plumber. Unfortunately, the image used on the corset almost looks like it could be a Link “upskirt” pic, but we’re still impressed by this outfit nonetheless.

Also, as of writing this, it’s still in stock. So, you can wear (or have your girlfriend wear) Link’s backside for $99.98 — expensive, but a fair price for all the work that probably went into this.

VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 3/31/08

Filed under:

>

This week sees another duo of titles available for play. One of them is N64 title Cruis’n USA, while the other launches a new system on the Virtual Console for North America. Hit up the video above for your usual dose, then head past the break for some added fun.

Cruis’n USA (N64, 1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points)
Wii Fanboy says: do not download

It’s not that Cruis’n USA is a bad game; this blogger can easily recall fond memories of enjoying his new N64 with this game. But, the game hasn’t held up that well over time. The controls aren’t all too responsive and, let’s face it: this game can be found for a lot cheaper than $10. If you already own a N64, you likely have this game. If not, there are better N64 games to download.

Wonder Boy (Sega Master System, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
Wii Fanboy says: download it!

Wonder Boy is a very solid platformer and a bit of a Super Mario Bros. clone. Well, actually, it’s a downright clone, but it’s still a good game. It’s fun, has great sprites and is pretty challenging, even today. Although we would’ve liked it to be priced at 400 Wii Points, an extra 100 Wii Points isn’t going to break the deal for us. Give this one a download.

That concludes our look at this week’s Virtual Console games. As always, if you have any tips or rumors regarding Nintendo’s Virtual Console service, be sure to let us know and come back next week when we take a look at the latest titles available on the Nintendo Wii!

Twilight Princess cosplay leaves us agog

Filed under:

Okay, so the dude looking slightly lost in the background doesn’t quite make this scene as convincing as it could be — you’ll have to imagine him as, we don’t know, a tree, or a random Beamos or … something. Aside from that, however, this could totally be Midna, of Twilight Princess fame.

This was snapped at last year’s Anime Expo in the Gerudo Desert Long Beach, California, though has only recently surfaced on the internets. We’ve got huge respect for cosplay when it’s as well-executed as this — just look at the craftsmanship on that headdress! For us, this ranks right up there with the Samus cosplay we posted about many moons ago on DS Fanboy (though doesn’t give us the same lulz as the Dr. Kawashima example).

Go past the jump to see a full-length shot, as well as another fine Twilight Princess cosplay, this time based on bug-lover/general weirdo Agitha.

Battalion Wars 2 drops to even lower price

Filed under:

The price for Battalion Wars 2 keeps on dropping on Amazon — first it fell to $32.99, and now you can pick it up for $25.83. Not that we’re complaining. Any chance to pick up a good game cheaply is okay by us. We’re especially glad that this price qualifies BWii for Amazon’s free shipping (by eighty-three cents).

This isn’t Amazon’s “Deal of the Day,” so we don’t know how long this pricing will last; make sure you take that into consideration when you debate whether or not to jump on this sale.
